The following people are instrumental in helping our Director of Bands, Ms. Imel, make the Marching Chargers a success.
Kelsey Parsons
Kelsey Parsons is the director of bands at George Moses Horton Middle School. Ms. Parsons received her Bachelor’s in Music Education from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
During her at ASU, Ms. Parsons participated in many ensembles, including the Marching Mountaineers, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensembles, as well as leading a Video Game Ensemble dedicated to the performance of video game soundtracks. In her free time, Ms. Parsons enjoys exploring new music, playing video games, and playing with her dog Kira.

Joshlyn
Joshlyn has been on staff with the Northwood High School Color Guard since 2019. Joshlyn started performing when she was in high school and quickly found passion in the performing arts. She spun with the Scotland High School Color Guard and Winter Guard in Laurinburg, NC from 2014-2018 and went on to perform with The UNC Chapel Hill Colorguard from 2018-2022, CVP Encore in 2023 and Assembly Line as a first year member in 2025/26. In addition to being on staff at NWHS, Joshlyn is the Color Guard Director at Apex High School and works as an Early Intervention Service Coordination full time. When she’s not working or at rehearsal, she enjoys spending time at home watching her favorite shows.
