Band camp is the start of marching season. The opportunity to get the band together and learn the show before the school year starts is one of the most important opportunities that the Marching Band has. Students will use this time not only to learn the marching band show, but also to get to know each other better and establish the sense of camaraderie and collective responsibility that is crucial to success. After all, Band is a team sport!
Every student is a vital member of the ensemble; there are no “benchwarmers” in marching band. Full participation of each and every student in the band is the only path towards success. As such, attendance at band camp is required for participation throughout the season.
2025 Marching Band Camp Dates: 28-Jul-2025 through 15-August-2025
Please note the days on which you are called to show up. The first two days of camp will be only the leadership team, all color guard, and all percussion – yes, even guard and percussion rookies! Then everyone is to report on Wednesday, the third day. We will meet in the band room each morning until further notice. Throughout band camp I will post a daily schedule outlining times, locations, and learning objectives to allow everyone to be on the same page at all times. Please remain flexible as things are ever-changing.
Please note the time change to dismissal. We will end by 5pm each day, not 6pm. The exception is sectional week, when rehearsals end at 3pm. Percussion: depending on your progress made, I’d like to offer you the incentive of canceling sectionals on Friday, Aug 8th. And good news… we have a percussion instructor that has agreed to be present for ALL of band camp and the entire season. Yay!
